🧶🦣 Welcome! 🦣🧶
Today I am sharing this super fun star bandana and headband pattern! This is a super quick project to make, less than an hour for the headband and two for the bandana. I think this is going to be so fun to wear for the 4th of July with red/white/and blue colors, or you can use different colors and wear it year-round!
This pattern is written to fit an adult, but will also fit teenagers/children due to the adjustable ties. If you want to make it even smaller, you can use a smaller weight yarn and hook, or use less stars in your project.
This stars are joined together as you create them by using a slip stitch. I will walk you through where to join your stars so you get that perfect classic bandana shape! If you want to make the headband version, scroll down and you will see the pattern for that. 🙂
You may sell the finished product as long as I am credited for the pattern. Do not copy and publish this pattern as your own.

Let’s get started!
Measurements
This bandana and headband is sized to fit an adult. You can easily adjust this pattern to fit youth sizes by decreasing the amount of stars used.
Materials
- YARN | acrylic or cotton yarn weight 4 in red, white, and blue. I used 1 skein Sugar n Cream cotton for the bandana and headband pictures
- 5 mm hook (size H) or whatever hook fits your choice of yarn
- tapestry needle to weave in the ends
- scissors to cut your yarn
Abbreviations
Sl st = Slip Stitch
Ch = Chain
Sc = single crochet
Dc = double crochet
Tr = treble crochet
St = stitch
Rep = repeat
CC = connecting chain
Special Stitches
Join = this is how you will connect the stars together. Basically you will sl st through the ch 1 space (the point) of the other star. Insert your hook through the front of the point of the star you are connecting to. Yarn over and pull through the ch 1 space and the loop on your hook to make a slip stitch.
Pattern Notes
- This pattern uses US crochet terms
- The ch at the start of each round does not count as a stitch
- The number in parentheses() at the end of each round indicate the stitch count
- The pattern in the brackets [] are worked into the same stitch
- The join slip stitch is how you will crochet the stars together. Alternatively, you can make the 10 stars separately and tie them together with yarn by tying a knot through the ch 1 spaces on the points. This will create more ends to weave in though.
Bandana
We will start with the top left star and work our way left to right, top to bottom, like reading a book. I recommend laying your project down before and after each star to admire it often and to make sure you are connecting your stars correctly.
