🧶🦣 Welcome! 🦣🧶
Today I am sharing with you a quick and easy pattern you can make in time to wear for 4th of July! Although you can wear it year-round, especially this summer since we are having the Olympic Games!
This is a great pattern for beginners since it only consists of the basic crochet stitches like single crochet, slip stitches, and chains. If you are more advanced, you could probably whip up this top in just a few hours.

Let’s get started!
Make 2 Cups
Since every body is unique and comes in all shapes and sizes, I’ve designed this pattern to be customizable to fit you specifically! I also have recommendations of standard sizing measurements if you’d rather use that instead of custom sizing.
To begin: With Color A, create a foundation chain that extends from the bottom of your breast to the middle. Or use this standard sizing chart below
XS: ch 11 XL: ch 15
S: ch 12 2X: ch 16
M: ch 13 3X: ch 17
L: ch 14 4x: ch 18
Row 1: Sc 1 in the 2nd Ch from hook, Sc in each stitch until you reach the last Ch. Sc 3 into the last Ch. (Optional – place a stitch marker in the 2nd Sc of the Sc 3. This will mark the middle stitch where you will increase each row.)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. This turning chain does not count as a stitch. Sc in each stitch across until you reach the 2nd Sc of the Sc 3 on the row before (your marked stitch.) Sc 3 in this stitch. Move the stitch marker to the 2nd Sc of the new Sc 3. Continue to Sc in each remaining stitch of the previous row. At the end of each row, you should always have the same number of stitches on either side of your marker without counting the marked stitch.
Row 3+: Repeat Row 2 until the cup covers your breast. For those using the standard sizing, see the below chart for the numbers of additional rows to complete now.
XS: 8 rows (10 total) XL: 16 rows (18 total)
S: 10 rows (12 total) 2X: 18 rows (20 total)
M: 12 rows (14 total) 3X: 20 rows (22 total)
L: 14 rows (16 total) 4x: 22 rows (24 total)
Striped Band
Row 1: With your red yarn, ch 15 (16,17,18,19,20,21,22). If you are making a made-to-measure top, measure from the outer point of your waist just under your breast to just under your shoulder blade. Make a chain this length (count how many stitches so you can make the other side the same length). This will be the start of one side of the waistband.
Sc evenly across the bottom of the first cup in each stitch and end of row. Bring in the 2nd cup and continue to Sc across the bottom of the cup in each stitch and end of row.Ch 15 (16,17,18,19,20,21,22), ch 1 and turn.
Row 2-5: Sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn. Cut and tie off yarn after the end of row 5.
Row 6: Join your white yarn to where you just tied off. Sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn
Row 7-10: Sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn. Cut and tie off yarn after the end of row 10.
Row 11: Join your red yarn to where you just tied off. Sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn
Row 12-15: Sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn. Cut and tie off yarn after the end of row 15.
Row 16: Join your white yarn to where you just tied off. Sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn
Row 17-20: Sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn. Cut and tie off yarn after the end of row 20.
Row 21: Join your red yarn to where you just tied off. Sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn
Row 21-25: Sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn. Cut and tie off yarn after the end of row 25.
For a longer top, continue this pattern and add more stripes.
Weave in ends.
Straps
We will make 2 straps that attach at the neck, and criss cross across the back like a corset.
Row 1: With white yarn. Ch 150, sl st in the second ch from hook, sl st in each ch across until you reach the end. Slip stitch into the top of the cup triangle. Cut yarn and tie off. Take the beginning tail and sew that onto the top of the cup. Tie your 2 tails in a knot and weave in your ends making sure the strap is secure.
Repeat for the other side.
Now you can weave your straps into the band going across back and forth as pictured.
…and you’re done!

I love this too it’s super cute! I do have a question about the cups. When it’s completed is the middle of them supposed to be in the middle of the chest? Mine are off to the side a little. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks in advance.
Hi Kayla! I am so glad you love this top!
Yes, the cups should be centered on your band and will be in the middle of your chest. The middle of the cups themselves should be where the nipple is.
When first creating the band, did you chain the same amount before and after single crocheting along the bottom of the cups? That should ensure that the cups are in the middle!
